Soft silvery metallic element, belongs to the lanthanoids. Only natural isotope is ¹⁴¹Pr which is not radioactive. Fourteen radioactive isotopes have been artificially produced. Used in rare-earth alloys. Discovered in 1885 by C.A. von Welsbach.
